January 21, Fineko/abc.az. Fuel consumption has been reduced more than by 24% at the carbamide plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), ABC.AZ informs, quoting Emil Alkhasly, CEO at SOCAR Downstream Management LLC.

He noted that for SOCAR, the introduction of Sənaye 4.0 is not a trend, but a set of solutions aimed at ensuring security, expanding digitalization, improving the quality of products manufactured at factories, and improving economic performance.

According to company’s head, the main reason for giving the award to the carbamide plant within the Digital Lighthouse Project was introduction of digitalization, artificial intelligence and a range of solutions that meet the requirements of Sənaye 4.0, which eventually led to increased efficiency and production capacity:

"One of the reasons for the award was the reduction of unplanned downtime and the introduction of a number of applications. This award is mainly related to the performance of the plant's operations team and to increased efficiency and productivity through the introduction of digital solutions. The work was carried out within this project for two years. In 2023 and 2024, thanks to the creation of the basic infrastructure and the subsequent implementation of analytical solutions, it was possible to improve production performance and reduce costs. During this period, plant's production capacity increased by more than 21%. In terms of efficiency, the fuel consumption of natural gas for the production of each ton of carbamide was reduced by more than 24%. A number of solutions have been applied to achieve this result."
