February 4, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, there is no need for banks operating in a specific field in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ informs that CBA governor Taleh Kazimov stated this at a press conference.

According to Kazimov, Azerbaijan had experience in banking in the agricultural sector.

"Currently, most of our banks are universal, I don't think there is demand for industry-specific banks in the market. We want interbank competition to grow. Perhaps in the future some banks will focus on certain industries, for example, they will be engaged only in mortgage lending. But today, as far as I know, such banks are not needed," he said.
