February 4, Fineko/abc.az. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are working over the creation of a Council of Businessmen, which will allow for direct interaction between entrepreneurs of the two countries and promptly resolve emerging issues, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov.
"We are already working on creating a Business Council, a kind of business council that will ensure direct interaction between entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. It is important that there is constant communication between them and that emerging issues are resolved promptly," the diplomat said.
According to Ashrafkhanov, systematic work has already been built at all levels - through the Supreme Interstate Council, the Intergovernmental Commission and relevant organizations. In the future, he added, the business council will be involved through chambers of commerce and industry and business associations. This will allow for the creation of permanent mechanisms to eliminate barriers, promptly resolve emerging issues and promote new joint projects.
The ambassador also stressed that Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations are "at their peak", and the number of bilateral and multilateral events is growing both in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. He added that the parties traditionally participate in all key initiatives of each other and maintain constant contacts at different levels.
