Azerbaijan's foreign trade reaches $49.4 bn for 2025

February 6, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s imports amounted to $24.38 bn in 2025.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Customs Committee that $8.283 bn of imports accounted for the public sector, $13.912 bn for the private sector, and $2.185 billion for individuals.

Compared with 2024, these figures increased by 31.2%, 9% and 10.2%, respectively. The share of the public sector in imports was 33.98%, the private sector - 57.06%, and individuals - 8.96%.

At the same time, in 2025, the value of exports of goods from Azerbaijan reached $25.043 bn. According to the SCC, $11.449 billion in exports accounted for the public sector, $13.445 billion for the private sector, and $148.5 million for individuals. Compared with 2024, these figures declined by 9.8%, 1.8% and 10.7%, respectively.

The share of the public sector in exports made up 45.72%, the private sector - 53.69%, individuals - 0.59%.

As a whole, last year, Azerbaijan carried out foreign trade operations for $49.423 bn ($1.81 bn, or 3.8% more than in the previous year), including exports for $25.043 bn and imports for $24.38 bn. Exports decreased by $1.5 billion (5.7%), while imports increased by $3.322 billion (15.8%) in 2025.

As a result, positive balance of $663 million was formed in foreign trade (8.3-fold less than in 2024 - $4.833 bn).
