February 6, Fineko/abc.az. The Electronic Security Service (under the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport of Azerbaijan) has conducted an investigation into an attempted cyberattack on government and banking organizations with the use of steganography.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Service, that the analysis showed that the malicious components were hidden in files that looked like ordinary files.

When they are opened, there is a risk of downloading malware such as Remcos RAT, which allows gaining full remote control over the system.

Technical Attack Indicators (IOC) have already been added to platform misp.cert.az

The Service calls on agencies and organizations to promptly exchange information about suspicious activity and cyber incidents and cooperate in the field of cybersecurity.
