Saudi companies to build renewable energy plants with capacity of 5 GW in Turkey

February 6, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from 2027, Saudi companies will start construction of solar and wind power plants with total capacity of 5 GW in Turkey, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At the first stage, solar stations with capacity of 1 GW will be installed in the provinces of Sivas and Karaman. The projects will be financed by external investments and international loans. It is expected that the new stations will provide electricity to nearly 2.1 million households and will allow Turkey to reduce the cost of electricity. The localization level of the projects will be 50%.
