February 10, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. Vice President JD Vance has announced a new defense agreement on the sale of surveillance UAVs to Armenia for $11 million.
ABC.AZ reports that he informs announced this during a joint press conference with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan.
"For the first time, we are announcing a major sale of military technologies: $11 million for surveillance drone technology," he said.
Vance noted that these drones will be used for Armenia's security. For the U.S., this also means new jobs and investments in the defense technology sector.
In turn, Pashinyan stressed that significant progress has been made in the field of military and defense cooperation between Armenia and the U.S.
"This will make significant contribution to strengthening our defense capabilities. I expressed a hope that this deal, implemented as part of the American program for the sale of military equipment to foreign countries, will become a solid foundation for expanding our future cooperation," Pashinyan emphasized.
