February 16, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, Azerbaijan imported 57,475 kg of gold (gold in other semi-processed forms - ingots, rods, wire and profiles, plates, sheets with thickness of more than 0.15 mm, excluding substrates, strips or tapes) for $6.264 billion.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, that the indicator is 89% more in value terms and 40% more in quantity versus 2024.

Azerbaijan purchased 9,384 kg (+4.8-fold) of gold from Switzerland for $1.98 billion (8-fold more than a year earlier), 8,099 kg (-55%) from Australia for $889.8 million (-39%), and 8,099 kg (-55%) from the U.S. for $860 million (-19%) in the amount of 7,466 kg (-42%), 6,939 kg (+3.5-fold) from Russia for $677.9 million (+4-fold), 4,149 kg from Uzbekistan for $508.3 million (deliveries were made for the first time).

In 2020-2023, Azerbaijan imported a total of 1,724 kg of gold for $98.3 million, while in 2024 imports totaled 41,078 kg for $3.313 billion.

Last year, Azerbaijan exported gold only to Switzerland. 4,522 kg of gold worth $326.2 million was delivered to this country (54% and 6% more, respectively, compared with the previous year).
