February 17, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, Azerbaijan imported 1,267,322 tons of wheat for $275.6 million (1.9% less in quantity and 1.4% less in cost compared with 2024), ABC.AZ informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Imports from Kazakhstan totaled 662,269 tons (+5.3-fold) for $142.6 million (+5-fold last year), from Russia - 604,944 tons (-48%) for $132.8 million (-47%), from Austria - 15 tons (-6%) for $155,700 (+3-fold), from Turkey - 93.6 tons (-90%) for $73,800 (-91%).

In 2024, 90.2% of the 1.292 million tons of Azerbaijan’s wheat imports was carried out from Russia.
