February 18, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, the volume of cotton fiber exported from Azerbaijan increased compared with 2024, while the price environment remains favorable.

ABC.AZ reports that cotton exports totaled 118,520 tons (8.44% more than in 2024). In value terms, exports reached $177.12 million, a rise of 11.03% during the year.

The average export price was $1,494 per ton (2.39% higher than last year - $1,459).

At the same time, it is lower than the current world prices, which are approximately in the range of $1,800-2,200 per ton.

Last year, cotton production significantly exceeded global demand: with expected volume of 25.2 million tons, actual production was 26 million tons. In addition, synthetic fibers, especially polyester, limit the demand for cotton to a certain extent, acting as its alternative.
