February 18, Fineko/abc.az. Cotton exports in 2025 totaled 118,520 tons (8.44% more than in 2024).

ABC.AZ informs that among the exporter companies are private company Prime Cotton LLC (cotton sale for $107.5 million) and state-owned enterprise Azərpambıq Aqrar Sənaye Kompeksi LLC (sale for $38.9 million).

Last year, the foreign exchange earnings of these companies amounted to $93.9 million and $56.1 million, respectively.

Turkey remains the main export market. In 2025, 101,990 tons of cotton fiber were exported to this country (2.01% less than in 2024) for $148.33 million (1.66% less). The average price of cotton exported to Turkey was $1,454, compared with $1,449 in 2024, and the annual rise was only 0.36%.

Meanwhile, exports to Turkmenistan increased dramatically. In 2025, 10,260 tons of cotton were shipped to this country (416% more than a year ago) for $19.89 million (404.83% more). The average price was $1,939, compared with $1,981 in 2024.

Exports to Iran also showed growth. The volume increased by 3.1% year-on-year up to 74,960 tons. The cost of exported cotton there was $4.38 million. The average price of cotton for Azerbaijan's southern neighbor was $1,409 per ton, compared to $1,490.94 last year.

Bangladesh and China have become new or expanding markets in 2025. 2,040 tons of cotton for $3.15 million were exported to Bangladesh, with an average price of $1,543.71. 990 tons of products for $1.19 million were shipped to China, and the average price was $1,199.99.
