February 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries are showing steady growth in trade and investments, which contributes to strengthening regional economic integration.

ABC.AZ informs that Nijat Hajizadeh, the department head of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications, said this at international conference on the theme "C6: United region, Common Future - strengthening strategic dialogue" in Baku.

He added that this indicates strengthening of Azerbaijan's role in the system of regional economic cooperation.

"In 2025, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with Central Asian countries reached $1.8 billion. The bulk of this turnover is made up of imports from the countries of the region. At the same time, Azerbaijani products are actively entering the markets of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Exports of non-oil products of Azerbaijani origin to these countries showed an increase of more than 5%, which is a positive trend compared to previous years," he said.

Hajizadeh also stressed that according to statistical data for January–September 2025, an increase in foreign direct investments from Central Asian countries into the economy of Azerbaijan was recorded.

"In particular, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan accounted for the largest share of investments. In addition, in the first nine months of 2025, Azerbaijan invested $41.7 million in Central Asian countries in the form of foreign direct investments," he added.
