February 19, Fineko/abc.az. Electricity exports from Russia in 2025 decreased by 12.8% to 7.4 billion kWh. Imports, on the contrary, increased by 19.2% up to 2.3 billion kWh.
ABC.AZ informs that such data is provided by Inter RAO in the summary of the results of production activities.
According to the company, the bulk of exports came from Kazakhstan and Mongolia, while increase in imports occurred mainly due to flows from Kazakhstan.
The reduction in exports is linked not only with shortage of electricity in the Far East, but also with low price competitiveness of Russian supplies: the cost of electricity to China is lower than the price of imports from the Russian Federation, taking into account the tariff of the backbone networks.
