February 19, Fineko/abc.az. The self-employed in Belarus will be able to legally receive payments in cryptocurrency.
ABC.AZ infroms, quoting the first deputy chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, Alexander Yegorov, on TV channel First Information. He explained how President Lukashenko's decree on crypto banks, signed in January, would work.
According to the document, a cryptobank in Belarus is a joint-stock company that can combine various operations with digital tokens with banking, payment and other financial activities. Yegorov explained that Belarusian freelancers, such as designers or programmers, can receive payment for their services in cryptocurrency if they perform work from a foreign customer. However, previously, a freelancer could not legally transfer this crypt to an account and could not pay taxes on it. Now this barrier has been removed.
