Last year, Azerbaijan imported 9.17 million heads of live domestic chicken (chicks) weighing no more than 185 grams for $11.9 million (45% less in quantitative terms and 8% less in value terms against 2024), ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan imported 942,937 chicks (-0.3%) from Russia for $6.9 million (15% more than a year earlier); 6,730,450 chicks (-43%) from Turkey for $3.5 million (-23%); 1,367,000 chicks (-64%) from Georgia for $658,000 (-67%); 77,160 chicks from Spain (4.5-fold more) for $441,200 (3.7-fold more); 38,880 chicks from the U.S. (-5%) for $266,000 (-1.1%).

After a 3-year, 7-month hiatus, Azerbaijan resumed deliveries from France (13,928 chicks for $130,000).

In 2024, 71% of the 16.55 million chicks imported by Azerbaijan was carried out from Turkey.
