March 6, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Department of the Treasury has allowed Indian refineries to purchase Russian oil and petroleum products in offshore tankers for 30 days.
ABC.AZ informs that the temporary exemption from sanctions allows for transactions on sale, delivery and unloading, even from ships that were previously subject to restrictions.
Earlier it was reported that the U.S. administration is also considering the possibility of indefinite lifting of sanctions against the German division of Rosneft.
At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump had previously stated that Indian PM Narendra Modi had agreed to abandon purchases of Russian oil. Following these statements, the largest Indian refineries temporarily switched to supplies from the UAE and West African countries.
