Issue of price increases for imported products from Iran clarified

March 10, Fineko/abc.az. - (special news) - The reason for the increase in prices for products imported from Iran in Azerbaijan has been clarified.

Commenting on the question for ABC.AZ, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers (AQC), Vugar Oruj, said that the reason for the increase is that trade between the two countries is conducted in dollars.

However, the loss of the Iranian national currency's position against the dollar and its further decline were also among the factors contributing to the price increase:

"At the same time, rising oil prices and war conditions lead to increased logistical costs. And as logistics and transit costs increase, the cost of the product also increases. In the end, we are faced with rising prices during the product launch. I think prices are expected to rise, but since Iranian goods account for up to 5 percent of the market, these products will not affect the entire turnover."
