March 11, Fineko/abc.az. The economic added value created through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in agriculture has not yet been estimated in Azerbaijan, and the introduction of such practices is of great importance for development of the industry.

ABC.AZ reports that Milli Majlis MP Vugar Bayramov (a member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship) made this statement at a public hearing of the Committee on Agrarian Policy.

According to Bayramov, it is important not only to introduce digital solutions, but also to assess their real economic impact on the agricultural sector.

"It would be right if the Ministry of Agriculture presented concrete results of the use of artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector. AI and digital solutions are not a result, but a tool. The result should be expressed in a specific economic value," the MP said.

Bayramov stressed that today in the global agricultural sector, the value added created by AI is estimated at nearly $4.7 billion, and by 2035 this figure may grow up to $46.6 billion.
