March 12, Fineko/abc.az. French TotalEnergies has launched the Lapa South-West project, located in the Santos Basin, about 300 km from the coast of Brazil.

ABC.AZ informs that development of subsurface area Lapa South-West will be carried out using 3 wells connected to an existing FPSO (floating installation for the extraction, storage and shipment of oil and natural gas). The project will increase production at the main field, Lapa – by 25,000 b/d, up to 60,000 b/d.

The project is estimated at US$1 billion. The final investment decision was made in January 2023. It was expected that the launch of production at Lapa South-West would take place in 2025.
