Washington to release 172 million barrels of oil to lower prices

March 12, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. will release 172 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserve, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the U.S. Department of Energy.

"The President [of the United States Donald] Trump has authorized the Department of Energy to release 172 million barrels from the strategic petroleum reserve starting from next week. The delivery will take approximately 120 days, based on the planned unloading rates," U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright says in a press release.

On Wednesday, Trump said he was using oil from a strategic reserve to lower prices for this energy resource.
