March 12, Fineko/abc.az. Purchases made through social media increase the risk of consumer rights violations.

ABC.AZ informs that Yusuf Tapdigli, the head of the Consumer Market Control Department (under the State Agency for Antimonopoly Control & Consumer Market Supervision), stated about this at a forum held in Baku.

He added that some consumers make purchases on social networks through card-to-card transfers through accounts that do not have legal status and contact information: "In such cases, consumer rights protection is complicated because the counterparty is not recognized as an entrepreneur, and certain difficulties arise when considering appeals from persons whose rights have been violated. Consumers are advised to check the seller's legal status and contact information when making a purchase, giving preference to official sales channels."
