Azerbaijan invested $143.9 million in Georgia's economy last year

March 12, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan invested $143.9 million in Georgia's economy for 2025, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the preliminary report of the National Statistics Service of Georgia for 2025. Compared with the previous year, investments increased by 71.5%.

Azerbaijan's share in overall foreign investments in Georgia was 8.5%, which provided the country with the 5th place among the largest investors. Top 4 includes the UK ($334.2 million), Turkey ($180.8 million), Malta ($173.7 million) and the U.S.($158.1 million).

In general, foreign direct investments in the Georgian economy in 2025 amounted to $1.68 billion (a rise of 7.6% year-on-year). The main areas of investments were the financial and insurance sector, real estate, transport, industry, ICT, energy, construction, water supply and waste management, trade, as well as entertainment and recreation.
