11:58 - 13.03.2026

March 13, Fineko/abc.az. As of January 1, 2026, the assets of the financial sector of Azerbaijan amounted to 60.6 billion manats, which corresponds to 46.9% of country's GDP and 65.7% of GDP excluding the oil & gas sector.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the overview report on the activities of the Cabinet Ministers for 2025.

According to the document, the indicator is 11.7% less than on January 1, 2025.

As of the reporting date, 92.3% of sector's assets were concentrated in banks. This figure is 15.1 percentage points higher than 1 year ago. The share of non-bank credit organizations and credit unions decreased from 19.5% to 2%, the share of insurance companies increased from 3% up to 3.5%, and the share of investment companies remained at 0.2%.

The sharp decrease in the share of NBCOs’ assets is linked with the fact that the assets of Aqrarkredit OJSC, which contain the toxic assets of Azerbaijan International Bank OJSC, are not taken into account in the calculations of NBCO assets.
