March 13, Fineko/abc.az. As of February 1, 2026, the number of employees in Azerbaijan totaled 1,782 people, including 861,400 in the public sector and 920,600 in the private sector.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that of the paid workers, 18.6% were employed in trade and vehicle repair, 18.3% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.6% in healthcare and social services to the population, 6.5% in construction, 6.2% in the state management and defense; social security, 4.4% in transportation and warehousing, 3.8% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, 2.3% in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 15.1% in other sectors of the economy.

In January 2026, the average monthly nominal wage of paid employees grew by 3.8% against January 2025 up to 1,103.8 manats. According to initial data for 2025, the average monthly nominal wage of paid workers in country's economy was 1,102.9 manats (the difference from the previous month was 0.90 manats).
