March 13, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, Azerbaijan imported 536 tons of avocados (fresh or dried) for $2.7 million.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the State Statistics Committee, the figure is 25% less in cost and 10% more in volume compared to the figures for 2024.

Azerbaijan purchased 315 tons (-0.3%) of avocados from Peru for $1.1 million (5% more than a year earlier), 195 tons (-48%) from Turkey for $293,000 (-48%), 91 tons (+25%) from South Africa for $276,000 (+27%), 83 tons (+109-fold) from the United Tanzania for $259,000 (+65-fold), 86 tons (+10-fold) from Israel for $217,000 (+8-fold).

Azerbaijan’s imports from Guatemala -  0.4 tons for $1,900 last year was carried out for the first time in 14 years (note: official foreign trade statistics relate to the period up to 2011).

In 2024, 45% of the 832 tons of avocados imported in Azerbaijan was carried out from Turkey and 38% from Peru.
