March 16, Fineko/abc.az. Meta announces that the end-to-end encryption feature in private messages on Instagram will be disabled.

ABC.AZ informs that support for this option will cease on May 8, 2026.

According to company’s representative, this feature was used by a very small number of people. Those who want to continue correspondence with this level of protection were offered to switch to WhatsApp, where end-to-end encryption is used by default.

End-to-end encryption is a way to protect messages where only the sender and recipient can read them. Even the company through which the message passes cannot access its content.
