March 16, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2026, Azerbaijan has not exported eggs - all local production is aimed at meeting domestic demand.

ABC.AZ informs that the statement wa smade by Murvet Hasanli, the chairman of the Association of Poultry Meat & Egg Producers & Exporters of Azerbaijan .

He added that the pause in exports is temporary: new export agreements have been signed with the U.S., and egg shipments will begin in May. Implementation of the agreements with the Persian Gulf countries is scheduled to begin in April. Before that time, the situation in the Middle East is expected to stabilize.

Hasanli noted that the Association is constantly working to expand the geography of exports and search for new markets. The export of poultry products to China has already begun. Supplies to Central Asian countries are still difficult because there is protectionist policy and the industry is actively supported by the state.

He recalled that Azerbaijan exported more than 100 million eggs last year, earning almost $11 million. In 2025, the country produced 2.342 billion eggs (1.8% more than in 2024). Exports reached 12.7 million breeding eggs and 90.4 million canteens (a rise of 23% against the previous year).

According to Hasanli, geography of exports also expanded last year: in addition to the UAE, Qatar, the U.S. and Iraq, supplies were carried out to Gambia, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone and Germany.
