February 9, Fineko/abc.az. The trial on the criminal case of Sujayat Alekperova, the head of post division #81 of Post Office #5 of Azerpocht LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications & High Technologies, has ended in the Baku Court for Serious Crimes.

ABC.AZ reports that the verdict was read out at the session chaired by Judge Azad Mejidov.

According to the verdict, Alekperova was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison. Alekperova was found guilty of large-scale embezzlement and official forgery.

According to the prosecution, an audit of the post office revealed a shortage of funds in the amount of 25,398 manats and 16,000 US dollars (a total of 52,598 manats).
