SOCAR's investments in Turkey exceed $18.5 bn

January 6, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 17 years (since 2008), SOCAR has invested more than $18.5 bn in the Turkish economy.

ABC.AZ informs that the statement was made at a press conference in Istanbul by SOCAR Turkiye CEO (representing SOCAR interests in Turkey) Elchin Ibadov.

He added that these investments have made SOCAR Turkiye the largest foreign investor in Turkey.

Ibadov added that SOCAR began its activities in Turkey by purchasing 51% of Petkim shares in 2008 in the Privatization Department for $2.4 bn.

"Turkey's largest external investor, SOCAR, has invested $18.5 bn in this country over 17 years," Ibadov emphasized.
