November 7, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey agreed with Canadian company AtkinsRealis to begin technical surveys in order to work out cooperation in the construction of nuclear power plants.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, speech is about cooperation within republic's plans to build two more nuclear power plants.

The minister informed about negotiations with the Canadian company on the possible use of CANDU technology (a Canadian-made heavy-water nuclear reactor) in the construction of nuclear power plants in Sinope and Thrace.

He separately noted that "a joint decision has been made to begin technical surveys" to determine the prospects for cooperation.
