China is country with world's largest reserves of rare earth metals

December 5, Fineko/abc.az. Proven reserves of rare earth metals are the amount of metals that can be mined under existing economic and production conditions. That is, the place where the metals are located is known, the technology allows them to be mined, and the market price creates conditions for their profitable sale.

ABC.AZ informs that visualcapitalist has compiled a list of 10 countries with the largest reserves of these strategically important resources.

The country with the largest reserves of rare earth metals in the world is China - 44 million tons. Brazil - 2nd place (21 million tons), India - 3rd (6.9 million tons). Australia (5.7 million tons) and Russia (3.8 million tons) complete Top 5.

Top 10 also includes Vietnam (3.5 million tons), the USA (1.9 million tons), Greenland (1.5 million tons), Tanzania (890,000 tons) and South Africa (860, 000 tons).

The overall global reserves of rare earth metals total to 91 million tons.
