December 5, Fineko/abc.az. As a result of the geological exploration carried out in 2020-2025 in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, more than 50 deposits of raw materials for construction materials were identified and put into operation.

ABC.AZ reports that Shahin Atashov, deputy chairman of board of the Geological Exploration Agency under the Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources, said this at a meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues held in the city of Shusha.

According to Atashov, as a result of hydrogeological studies, the reserves of groundwater deposits in the foothill plains of Jabrayil and the whole of Karabakh were re-evaluated.

He added that as a result of searches for ore deposits, promising deposits were identified in Chullu zone of Aghdam region and in the Bina zone of Khojavend region.

Restoration works are ongoing in the following kariz complexes: in Fuzuli district - Kariz Yal Pirekhmedli, in Jabrayil district - Kariz Chinar, as well as kariz in village Dash Veysalli. Kariz Huseynaga and six kariz in Hovuslu have already been restored.
