NBU: Ukraine reduces its account deficit in October thanks to partner assistance and increased agricultural exports

December 5, Fineko/abc.az. In October 2025, Ukraine's foreign economic situation improved slightly: the current account deficit decreased to $2.1 billion.

ABC.AZ reports that perhaps this became possible due to the fact that, despite the decrease in official grants, other international assistance has increased, including funds coming through charitable foundations. Additional support was provided by the agricultural sector: exports of food, primarily vegetable oils, increased due to new crop stocks, while imports declined due to seasonal declines in fuel and fertilizer purchases.

Nevertheless, overall situation remains difficult: in the first 10 months of 2025, the current account deficit reached $26.9 billion, which is almost twice as much as in October 2024.
