January 15, Fineko/abc.az. As of January 1, 2026, Azerbaijan numbered 1,674,984 taxpayers.

ABC.AZ informs that According to the State Tax Service, the figure is 4.9% more than on January 1, 2025.

86.8% of taxpayers are individuals and 13.2% - legal entities and other organizations. Over the past year, the number of individual entrepreneurs has increased by 4.6%, while the number of departments, enterprises and organizations by 6.6%.

And the number of commercial organizations registered at the end of December last year was 7.2% more than 1 year ago – 204,065 ones.

In 2025, 14,051 commercial organizations passed state registration, of which 88.7% were with local investments and 11.3% with foreign investments. 85.1% of commercial organizations are registered electronically. The share of e-registration of limited liability companies with local investments was 96.5%.

92% of registered commercial legal entities are established in the form of a limited liability company, 1.1% - a joint-stock company, 1.1% - a cooperative, etc.
