January 15, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, the diamond market showed a sharp price discrepancy: small diamonds fell significantly in price, while large stones remained stable.
ABC.AZ informs that according to RAPI index, prices for 0.3 and 0.5 carat stones fell by more than 20-26%, 1-carat - by almost 10%, and 3-carat - by only 0.3%. In December, the fall in prices for small stones accelerated, while large ones rose slightly in price.
Rapaport notes that demand is shifting towards stones from 1.2 carats and above, especially elongated fancy shapes. The market enters 2026 in a state of caution amid trade risks, pressure from synthetic diamonds, sanctions and weakening demand in China and India.
