January 16, Fineko/abc.az. Armenia expects that the Trump Route for International Peace & Prosperity (TRIPP) project will contribute to strengthening regional security, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan.
According to the speaker, the framework agreement signed for 49 years means significant involvement of the U.S. in ensuring security at the country's borders and territory.
Simonyan noted that TRIPP is not only a transport, but also an element of the security system, and now not only Azerbaijan, but also the U.S., along with the EU, Russia and Iran, have interests in the region.
The project was launched on August 8 after the signing of a joint declaration by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and U.S. President Donald Trump. On January 14, Armenia and the U.S. signed a framework agreement on its implementation.
