February 11, Fineko/abc.az. The quantity of technopark residents in Azerbaijan is likely to increase up to 200 by the end of this year.
ABC.AZ informs that Elvin Hajiyev, the head of the Department for Work with Technoparks of the Agency for Innovations & Digital Development (IRIA), made the above-said statement at the business forum on the theme "Azerbaijan-Turkey: Digital Transformation & Technological Bridge" in Baku.
According to Hajiyev, 170 residents are currently registered in the country's technoparks: "These are small, medium and large IT companies working in the fields of software development and integration, as well as representing various segments of the real economy."
Technopark residents receive a range of benefits for 10–year term, including tax preferences, simplified migration procedures and other forms of government support. In addition, companies are becoming part of a single technological ecosystem.
Hajiyev noted that the agency also provides assistance to companies entering the Azerbaijani market and searching for local partners. At the same time, one of the key tasks is not only to implement projects within the country, but also to stimulate the export of technological services and solutions.
Currently, there are two IRIA technology parks in Azerbaijan - in Mingachevir and Pirallakhi district of Baku.
