February 16, Fineko/abc.az. In January 2026, Azerbaijan imported 7,591 vehicles for various purposes for $176.542 million.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan that compared with January 2025, the cost of imports grew by 27%, while the quantity decreased by 0.9%.

During the month, the import of vehicles for transporting 10 or more people (including the driver) increased 2.7-fold up to 189 vehicles for $36.843 million. Imports of automobiles and other vehicles for passenger transportation decreased by 1.9% to 6,774 cars for $125.708 million.

Of them, 712 vehicles ($15.611 million) are plug-in hybrids, 3,872 vehicles ($76.114 million) are plug-in hybrids, and 108 vehicles ($3.268 million) are fully electric. Shipments of the former grew 2.1-fold, the latter by 79.4%, while imports of electric vehicles declined by 22.3%.

In addition, imports of trucks fell by 11.8% to 569 vehicles ($6.137 million), while imports of special vehicles grew by 43.9% up to 59 cars ($7,854 million).
