February 16, Fineko/abc.az. Texas-based startup AST SpaceMobile has successfully deployed the antenna array of satellite BlueBird 6, the largest commercial vehicle in orbit.

ABC.AZ informs that it is 3-fold larger than the previous prototypes and will be the first element of a new constellation for mobile Internet without ground towers.

The antenna area is 223 sq m, broadband access speed is up to 120 MB/s, communication is possible directly with 4G/5G smartphones.

The company plans to launch 45-60 similar satellites into orbit by the end of 2026 to launch full-fledged commercial 5G in the U.S. and other countries, competing with Starlink project.
