February 20, Fineko/abc.az. Efforts to deepen cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia with the U.S. in 2026 will be continued in full, both economically and geopolitically.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to international analytical company Fitch Solutions, that the U.S. is becoming an important alternative to the strategic partnership with Russia for Baku and Yerevan.
"Nevertheless, we still do not see serious grounds to expect the introduction of broad secondary sanctions against Azerbaijan, especially amid the expansion of the U.S. geostrategic presence in the region," the report says.
Washington's activity increased after the signing of a preliminary peace agreement by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia at a summit in the US capital in August 2025. One of the elements of the Agreement was the commitment of the U.S. to support Armenia in creating a transit corridor that will connect the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, bordering Turkey.
