Vietnam's rice exports grew by 5% in two months

March 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 2 months Vietnam delivered 1.3 million tons of rice abroad (5% more versus Jan-Feb 2025), ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Ministry of Agriculture & Environment of Azerbaijan.

Income for rice decreased by 11.2% to $599.3 million. The average price turned out to be $464.1 per ton (15.4% less than a year earlier).

The Philippines remained the largest buyer with a share of 47.6%. The 2nd and 3rd places were shared by China and Ghana, which received 18.3% and 8.9% of shipped rice, respectively.

The Philippines bought 17.6% more rice in January and February, while China bought 5.8-fold more. At the same time, Ghana reduced purchases by 31%. Ivory Coast lowered rice imports from Vietnam the most, by 90.9%.

Rice with 5% crushed grains is sold at $365 per ton in early March. The pace of sales has slowed as buyers wait for lower prices during the peak harvest.
