September 7, Fineko/abc.az. According to the relevant agreement signed between Turkey and Azerbaijan, Zakulla Kerimov, a representative of the SOCAR Integrated Drilling Operations Trust, arrived in Batman to conduct drilling operations for oil exploration on behalf of Turkish company TPAO.

ABC.AZ reports that he conducted preliminary research, met with the governor of the city Ekrem Janalp.

In an interview with SOCAR representatives, the governor was informed about the oil exploration work to be conducted.

Within the contract signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey at the Oil Resources summit held in Istanbul in March, Kerimov said that important drilling operations are planned in Batman.

 “We’ll be very glad if we find oil during drilling in the region,” Kerimov said.
