Oil gets more expensive, and Brent is at $87.23 a barrel

October 3, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are rising in Monday’s trading after falling at the end of September and the 3rd quarter.

The price of November’s Brent crude futures at the London ICE Futures Exchange by 09:10 am is $87.23 per barrel, which is $2.09 (2.45%) more than the closing price of the last session. Following the trading on 30 September, those contracts fell by $0.53 (0.60%) to $87.96 per barrel.

The price of November’s futures for WTI crude oil at electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) by 09:10 is $81.54 per barrel, which is $2.05 (2.58%) higher than the final value of the previous session. Following the trading on 30 September, the value of these contracts fell by $1.74 (2.14%) to $79.49 per barrel.

Brent ended the previous week with an increase of 2.2%, but fell by 8.8% in September and 23% in the 3rd quarter. WTI rose in price by 1% last week, but lost by the end of September -11% and the 3rd quarter - almost 25%.
