11:47 - 8.12.2022

December 8, Fineko/abc.az. Formula 1 has announced the holding of sprint races for the new season.

ABC.AZ reports that the number of three sprint races held last year has doubled to six in the 2023 season.
The first sprint race is to be held in Baku as part of F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The head of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali notes that they have seen an exceptionally positive reaction to the weekends in the sprint format in the first two years.
"Next season, their number will be increased to six, including the first in the United States in Austin. Thanks to this format, there is now a fight on the track on each of the three days of the race weekend, which the fans like," Domenicali said.
