July 4, Fineko/abc.az. So, Azerenergy claims that power supply has been fully restored throughout the country after the accident at Mingachevir Thermal Power Plant.

Yahya Babanli, the head of the Public Relations Department of Azerenerji, has stated that energy supply has been restored both in Baku and in the districts of the country, and now preventive work is underway to avoid new failures.

Azerenerji’s representative also said that Azerbaijan has enough internal reserves to ensure energy supply without resorting to additional imports of electricity, while not forgetting to note that at present the energy systems of Azerbaijan and Russia are operating in parallel.

At that, from the night of 3 July, since the first accident, Azerbaijan began to buy electricity from Georgia (State Electric System of Georgia JSC; GSE), which delivers 86 MW and from Russia (PJSC Inter RAO), which supplies 200 MW to Azerbaijan.

Thus, it is unknown why Azerbaijan does not use domestic reserves, but imports electricity from neighboring countries.
