October 23, Fineko/abc.az. Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed opening of the BRICS grain exchange. He announced this initiative at the enlarged association summit in Kazan.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Putin, the BRICS grain exchange will help form fair indicators of grain prices in the world.

"The implementation of this initiative will help (BRICS) protect national markets from negative external interference, speculation and attempts to cause artificial food shortages," the Russian president said.

Putin added that over time, it would be possible to think about the transformation of the BRICS grain exchange into a full-fledged commodity exchange.
