November 19, Fineko/abc.az. A foreign order has been accepted for the supplied products from an ultra-intensive quince orchard located in Saatli district. Out of the 450 tons of products ordered, more than 200 tons have already been shipped.
ABC.AZ reports that a super-intensive quince garden was laid in Garalar village of Saatli district and is the first such garden in Mil-Mugan district.
The garden, laid out in 2020, is already in its second harvest year, and a bountiful harvest has ripened in the garden this season. The owner of the farm, Habib Ahmadov, says that in addition to quinces, there are cherry, pear, nectarine gardens on the territory and seasonal harvesting is carried out in stages. Currently, the harvest continues, as it is the quince season.
"46,000 seedlings of Eshma variety imported from Türkiye have been planted on 26 hectares of a 30-hectare garden. State support in laying the garden is also of great importance. Until the first year of harvest, we receive a subsidy from the state in the amount of 750 manats, and in subsequent years – 240 manats per hectare. This is a support for us in growing a garden. The first harvest of the garden was harvested last year, and 5-6 kg were harvested from each tree. And this year the harvest will be abundant," Ahmadov said.
Harvesting in the garden began earlier this month. An average of 25-30 kg of fruits are harvested from each tree. The product is sold both in the domestic market and abroad. The product has already entered the markets of Russia, Kazakhstan and Dubai. There are also orders from European markets. After the initial shipment of the product, an experimental contract for continuous export will also be signed.
