February 6, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, 6,935 heads of large and small cattle were insured in Azerbaijan, which is 2.1 times more than in 2024.

As ABC reports.AZ with reference to the Agricultural Insurance Fund, according to current tariffs, insurance of cattle (cow, buffalo) with value of 1,000 manats costs 24-39 manats for a farmer, and insurance of small cattle (sheep, goat) with price of 300 manats costs 7-10 manats.

In 2025, the collected insurance premiums for livestock insurance grew 2.5-fold up to 4.7 million manats. In return, the insurance coverage provided to livestock farms exceeded 46 million manats. This figure is 2.3-fold higher than in 2024.

The Agricultural Insurance Fund insures animals against numerous risks, including infectious diseases, food and grass poisoning, fires, snake and insect bites, wild animal attacks, natural disasters, actions of third parties, etc. As a result of such events, insurance payments are made for dead cattle.

In 2025, 394,000 manats were paid for livestock insurance to farmers and farms that suffered damage from various incidents.
