Daimler and BMW to combine their car sharing services against Uber

February 26, Fineko/abc.az. German automakers Daimler and BMW will create a joint venture to compete with Uber and other transport startups.

Daimler and BMW are going to invest more than 1 billion euro in it. Each of the companies will have by 50% in the joint venture."

BMW and Daimler are already collaborating in the development of self-driving cars. Now Daimler will combine its car-sharing brand Car2Go with BMW-owned services DriveNow, ParkNow and ChargeNow. As a result, their new enterprise will render five types of services – car sharing Share Now, the service is on call of drivers Free Now, service of electric vehicle charging Charge Now, search service for parking spots Park Now and service routing Reach Now.
