April 20, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has completed 94.1% of the works, including engineering, supply and construction works, on the TAP gas pipeline project, which will deliver natural gas to Europe.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by TAP AG, the operator of the pipeline. The pipeline is currently under construction.

Construction works are being completed in Albania as part of the pipeline construction. And the pipe-laying vessel “Castoro 6” of Saipem's TAP construction company has already started work in the Italian region of San Foca. This vessel is 152 m long and 70.5 m wide and will build pipes in the 105 km part of TAP in the Adriatic Sea, that is, from Italy to Albania. The delivery of natural gas to the pipeline system is the next stage in the start of Shah Deniz 2 gas supplies to Europe.

Commercial gas transportation via TAP is scheduled for October 2020, when the section to Italy will be fully commissioned and tested.
